street style

Downtown, I spotted this girl wearing just the loveliest outfit.

The pink-printed plaid was a feminine knock-out, paired perfectly with some quality accessories.
I'm coveting not just her stylish topper, but the menwear-chic carry-all that balances the outfit.

bonnie dune

Last night I saw LA-based band Bonnie Dune at Sugar nightclub, and they were really talented and entertaining.

All of Victoria was a-buzz with excitement at Glee star Cory Monteith's homecoming, and surprise surprise! Most of the audience members were girls about my age, all clammering to see him.

I'm not going to deny Cory's very cute, which was part of my reason for going...
However I was curious to see what else he could bring to the table. And he brought it.
I was very impressed and had an awesome girl's night out.

Great friends, great music- great job, fellas!

(Note to self: Don't wear heels to concerts. Ever again.)

send me some sunshine

Finally some sunshine for the poor wet West Coast.
Oh, how we've missed you, Blue Skies!
Hope everyone enjoyed this sunny, sunny Monday.

( P.S. Why do I look so angry and perplexed in this photo?
Maybe I'm thinking about my bad hair day?)

dreaming of white beaches

They say April showers bring May flowers, but it's been a very indecisive month so far weather-wise.
What was merely a grey day turned into a monsoon (okay, I'm exaggerating a little).
I guess I was a little too sure we'd get some serious sun, (hence the hemline).

This was my planned outfit for the day, that is until I looked out the window...
Luckily I didn't actually have anywhere to be, so I slept in and enjoyed my first day off since school ended. Whew.

Outfit: Shirt - Pure Alfred Sung
Skirt - thrifted/reconstructed
Shoes - Old Navy
Wallet - Aldo
Watch - Bulova
Socks - Roots

paint it red

Dress by H&M
Image: must be from old Marie Claire, Glamour?

I bought the most delightful and impractical red dress today (top).
It's full-skirted, bell-sleeved, the loudest shade of coral-red.
(This photo hardly does it justice. It's more red in real life).

I hesitated over other pieces I tried on, but there was no doubt in my mind about this dress.
I have to say, it reminded me a lot of this photo (above)
I tore out of a magazine years ago (was it a Marie Claire?)
While I have always dreamt of this Valentino gown, the H&M is like the more affordable, practical sister of the above Valentino.
I knew immediately I had to have it despite, of course, my lack of places to where it.
Maybe I can wear it to an art opening...
