We're all warming up for the "marathon" that is Christmas baking.

My sisters and I had so much fun. I decorated these two.

I came across this old photo the other day, and couldn't believe I'd forgotten about this day.

Was this Grade 8? I'm so young here!

I was so into chunky knitwear then, especially Fair Isle, and still am.

This is the perfect pic for today's post as Cowichan and Fair Isle knits are big this fall/winter.

As the weather gets colder, bundle yourself up in a chunky sweater for an effortless look.

I was sad to leave after such a great weekend.

Last night was the big Reunion Barbeque at Dinner Bay.

We played badminton on the lawn, walked the enormous Japanese garden and sang the night away. Great food, friends, and family!

I can't wait to come back!

Lighthouse at Georgina Point

This weekend we hopped the ferry to Mayne Island, B.C. for a family reunion.

It's a beautiful little island squeezed between Saturna, Pender and Galliano in the Gulf Islands.

On the way over, I saw my first wild orca!

Friday we did the tour of all the beaches and parks, my favorite beach being Georgina Point (above).

Being such a small island, it really didn't take long.

But the weather was just perfect - not a cloud in the sky.

If anyone happens to make their way over to Mayne,

just make sure you bring lots of friends or lots of stuff to do (or lots of booze).
