dressed in snow

like some familiar Frost poem

Greetings from Salmon Arm.
(Insert mountain photo here) tee hee
This is a big first for me, being here in the wintertime.

The desert landscape of the interior was barely recognizable in some areas driving up, where the
snow has carpeted the landscape such that it looked like little Christmas villages.
Other places, such as Merritt, were carbon copies of their August selves, with just the slightest
dusting of snow.

Fun with family (with my little bro, above) and friends on my twenty-first birthday.
Thank you all for the love and fond memories.
Cheers!

blue monday

Okay, it's Tuesday now, but the snow started last night.

This is the first post of 2012, and I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
Hopefully nobody's feeling the post-holidays credit crunch.

I lovelovelove this blue coat! It's Tardis blue, (and I got it on sale)
The colour choice for Blue Monday was completely unconscious, I swear.

Us West-Coasties have to wait till January for winter weather, and there is rarely very much snow!
Better late than never, though!

Happy Snowday!

twinkle lights burn out

Oh, the end of Christmas is a sad time.
The sadness gets somewhat cushioned by New Year's festivities but I still deplore taking down
the decorations.
Which is why I try to stretch the season out as long as I can, usually beginning mid-November by
compiling new songs for my Christmas playlist.

Goodbye 2011.
Welcome 2012. (Man, that sounds weird! 2012?)

one more sleep

Happy Christmas Eve!
A few borrowed words to mark the occasion:

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And Mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wandering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer...
